Thomas A. Kite Thomas Amos "Tom" Kite, 68, of Lake Monticello, died on Sunday, February 3, 2013, at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville. He was born on February 9, 1944, in Harrisonburg, the son of the late Amos Wilson Kite and Marjorie (Quintrell) Kite Finter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Jean (Hill) Kite. Following graduation from Luray High School, Mr. Kite started a nearly forty year career in the food service industry. He worked for many various food service business before retiring from Merchant's Grocery Company in Culpeper as a Management Support Specialist. He was an avid classic and muscle car enthusiast, often entering his cars in area car shows. He is survived by a sister, Cindi McMillan and husband, Wallace, of Roanoke; a nephew, Jeremy Jones and wife, Morgan, and their daughter, Saraih Belle, all of Roanoke; a special cousin, Peggy Kite of Palmyra; and an uncle, Elwood Kite of Crozet. A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Friday, February 8, 2013, at the Beautiful Gate Ministry, 3 Centre Court in Palmyra with the Reverend June Clifford officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Central Virginia Parrot Sanctuary, P.O. I'll never forget you Tom, you were a great guy to get to know. I appreciated the time you invited me to your beautiful Lake Monticello home and showed me all the great projects you had done. And of course talkin MOPARS! Glad you got to enjoy that Daytona, you sure made it look great. Rest in peace my friend...

I met Tom at the car shows and cruise-ins and he was always so friendly and easy to talk to. He invited us to come to his house/man cave and we were looking forward to it.He and His Bright yellow Dodge Charger will be missed. GOD BLESS to Tom and his family.

I am so sorry to hear of Tom's passing! He was a classmate of mine at Luray High School . I saw him briefly last year at a 60's group reunion. We had not talked for years but did reconnect on Facebook. He was such a kind and sweet "kid". So glad I saw him last year. Blessings to all of his friends and family. Sissy
