Thomas J. Klosiewicz Sr., a life-long resident of Wilmington, DE, died unexpectedly surrounded by his family on March 24, 2016 at the age of 67. Tom is survived by his wife, Joanne Christiana Klosiewicz; his children, Thomas J. Klosiewicz Jr. (Melanie), Kelly Smith (Doug), Amy Wharry (Dave), Denise Fay (Seth), and Jill Nagle; his siblings, Rita Klosiewicz, Robert Klosiewicz (Barbara), Elizabeth Rogerson (Harry), Rose Zarebicki (Michael), John Paul Klosiewicz, and Peter Klosiewicz; his grandchildren, Salvadore, Andy, Matt, JJ, Thomas, Sarah, Joseph, Ella, Thomas III, Emerson, Adeline, James, John, Avery, and Rowan; his in-laws Ginny Cheban (Ozzie), Thomas Christiana, and Lisa Brown (Ray); and many nieces and nephews. Tom was born in Wilmington, Delaware on March 7, 1949 to Sigmund and Elizabeth Klosiewicz.

A 1967 graduate of Wilmington High School, Tom proudly served in the United States Army, 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment "Blackhorse" in Vietnam from 1967 to 1969. His devotion to and love for his country was passed on to his family. Tom retired after more than 30 years of dedicated service to ICI/SPI Polyols, working at the Atlas Point site. After retirement, he greatly enjoyed working at Leon's Garden World. Tom cherished memories made at the family beach house with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing, especially time spent on his son's boat and his annual trip to Chincoteague. He also spent countless hours tending to his flower and vegetable gardens, always happy to share his harvest. He was a proud lifelong member of The Pulaski Legion, following in the footsteps of his father. Tom was a devoted husband, father, brother, Dziadzi and friend. He left us way too early, and he will be dearly missed. Tom's family would like to thank the medical staff of St. Francis Hospital ER and ICU for their unwavering care.

A viewing is scheduled for Wednesday evening, March 30, from 6-8pm at the CHARLES P. ARCARO FUNERAL HOME, 2309 Lancaster Avenue. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 31, at 10:30am at St. Hedwig Catholic Church, 408 S Harrison Street. Entombment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Michael Galindez Scholarship Fund at Aquila Inc., 1812 Newport Gap Pike, Wilmington, DE 19808 or The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund, 2600 Virginia Ave NW #104, Washington, DC 20037.
