Thomas Kronauge

Attending Tom Kronauge's funeral at St. Charles Borromeo Church this morning was tantamount to the end of an era for me. My family and Tom's were both long-time members of Corpus Christi Parish, where Tom ("Butch") and I and my two older brothers, Jerry ("Jake") and Patrick ("Denny") went to grade school and then on to Chaminade High School. In fact, the Kronauges lived next door on Kenwood Avenue to my Aunt Madelaine and Uncle Frank Ganther and my two older cousins, Mary Ellen...

Butch was a part of my extended family. I knew him and Red and all their children who went to St. Charles School and Alter High School with mine. Butch was a fine family man and a good father.

To the Kronauge Family, I am so sorry for your loss of such and incredible man. My dad lived with him at Fairmont and I loved talking to him. He was so proud of all his children and families. I was blessed to meet some of you and I loved seeing how you loved and cared for him. You are a special family. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
