Thomas H. Landess passed away suddenly in the company of family following a brief hospitalization. Tom was born in Sarasota, Florida in 1931 to Elizabeth and Joe Landess. He dedicated five years exclusively to writing before moving to northern Virginia, where he continued to write and publish books, articles, and op-ed pieces, and began serving as a ghost writer for major political figures and organizations. Tom proudly served Presidents Reagan and Bush at the U.S. Department of Education. In 1997 he and his wife returned to South Carolina and lived in Columbia where Tom continued writing. Not sure what to say?

It was a shock to learn of the death of my favorite cousin and someone I'd been delighted to see again in recent years, though, alas, only once. My loving condolences to Mary Beth.

Dear Landess family. I only met Mr. Tom briefly at Kate's office one time. However, in that brief encounter he immediately brought a smile to my face. I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. My heart and prayers go out to each of you. I hope you can each find peace in knowing he was yours. Sincerely, Amy
