Tom Looby Was a creative. challenging and sometimes controversiaal educator in the Guilderland Schools. I learned much from Dr. Looby. He led me to becomming an administrator which I enjoyed for the remainder of my career.

Tom Looby guided Guilderland School District through some difficult times. I also remember him as a not too bad bowler.

He was a very principled educator who worked very hard to make Guilderland Central Schools a strong District. He will be remembered for making us think and work for the good of the student, academically and socially.

I taught at Guilderland HS (Eng Dept) from Jan '70 to June '02. We didn't have many snow days during Dr Looby's tenure, and we joked that his great height made the snowdrifts seem smaller than they were. :-) I remember him as being thorough and tough but fair. My husband joins me in wishing his family sympathy and healing at his loss.
