Not sure what to say?

Mr. Lowrey was such an inspirational teacher. He was my fifth grade teacher in 1977-78 and encouraged each student in a way that was meaningful to them. I remember him playing music when we had time to work on homework which we all loved. He was kind and fair and made school a welcoming place. Sending condolences to his family and all those who loved him.

Tom will be missed by so many many people. I was fortunate enough to become a part of his family in October 2024 when his Son Nathan and my Granddaughter Halley got married. It was an awesome ceremony and touching, as he officiated it. My heart goes out to his whole family. Rest peacefully Tom.

I often heard my brother say" I taught her everything she knows about sports" and he was right. A lot of times he took me with him to play ball anywhere we could. Back yards, schoolyards, playgrounds, pavement, front yard, street, wherever. He wasn't embarrassed to have his little sister with him. It was hot and sweaty, but fun. We played a lot of Horse and Pig on the driveway basketball hoop. Ran a lot of races in the front yard. Once in a while I would win and he was not a graceful loser,...

Mr Lowrey was indeed a memorable teacher! One of the books he read in class was "Child of the Silent Night" - it is my favourite book to this day. I remember the after school movies in the round library at Chestnut Hill, way back in 1977. His smile and kindness will be remembered always. Thank you for being such a wonderful teacher and person! God Bless his family.

Kelly, please accept my condolences on the loss of Tom. You and your children are in my thoughts during this difficult time.

Mr. Lowrey was the first man who showed me it was ok and cool to be intellectual, to perform in musicals, to love reading and I don´t know that there´s a greater gift than that. My deepest condolences to his family you´re all in our thoughts and prayers.

As a parent whose daughters had Tom in Chestnut Hill, I admired the dedication and love he had for his students. May his memory be for a blessing.

I had Mr. Lowery at Chestnut Hill and I fondly remember him as one of my favorite teachers in the "circle" of the library. He made everything about math (and learning) fun. I loved that he was a musician because my love for music made me feel even more connected to him. I went to see him as Scrooge at MCFTA and he put on a phenomenal performance. I recall him stopping the show mid performance when there was an emergency in the audience. He stepped in and made sure the person was okay before...

Mr. Lowrey was certainly at the top of every Chestnut Hill School´s favorite teacher list. Around 1982/1983 is when I was able to move to the "big kid" end of Chestnut Hill. It was so fun to be around Mr. Lowrey. You could tell he loved life, he loved teaching, he seemed to love everyone around him. That infectious smile of his. About 24 years after having him as a teacher I saw him Jefferson during my niece´s play. He gave me that big smile and said "well little Lexi Tabor!" He had a...
