Tom was an amazing mentor to me over the years; always a gentleman, he taught me how to practice law professionally and with dignity. He provided opportunities to grow and learn, and led by example. I worked at Tom's law firm in the late 80's. I was a senior in high school and was pretty fresh in the work world. Tom was tough, but fair and I truly enjoyed my time there. When my brother was killed later that year, Tom took time out of his busy schedule to offer condolences at my family home. I knew he was still grieving for Sean and so appreciated him setting that aside to comfort me.
