Thomas "Bubba" Mack, age 70, of Manistee, MI passed away Thursday afternoon, Oct 16, 2025 at Trinity Health Hospital in Muskegon, MI. He was born Sept. 28, 1955 in Manistee, and was the son of the late Robert & Phyllis (Pieczynski) Mack. He attended Manistee Catholic Central and was a graduate with the class of 1973. Tom married Debra Tyczkowski on Sept. 27, 1980 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manistee. This year they celebrated 45 wonderful years of marriage together. Together they had one child, their daughter, Tanya.
Tom was first employed with the Morton Salt Company in Manistee until he decided to open a gas station named "Chiefs." He was also employed with Donald Popielarz's Pop's Asphalt Paving and Sealing and then with Ron Brown and Sons, where he decided his calling was working on small engine repair and being his own boss again. Tom was also a part of Mack's Catering of Manistee where he was known as "The Chicken Man", where he made all of the chicken and that was his job. They owned and operated Mack's Catering until his mother's death.
Tom loved the outdoors and always made sure that the house was festively decorated for each holiday, no matter what the weather. He also loved his devoted and beloved companion dog, "Mitzi" who was always by his side. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Tom is survived by his wife Debra of Manistee, MI; His daughter & son-in-law, Tanya & Gary Soberalski; two grandchildren, Mikaylah and Ethan, all of Ludington, MI; one brother & sister-in-law, Richard & Lynn Mack of Manistee; one sister-in-law, Janet Lytle; three nephews, Ryan Lytle, Kyle (Britney) Lytle and Ryan Mack; one niece, Kelly Mack and his brother-in-law, Jerry "Titch" Tyczkowski.
In Addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, Joe & Pat Tyczkowski and his brother-in-law, Leonard Lytle.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2025 at St. Joseph Church (Divine Mercy Parish) in Manistee with Rev. James Bearss celebrant. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery also in Manistee. The family will be at the church one hour prior to Tom's funeral Mass on Saturday to receive friends. A luncheon and time of continued fellowship will be held at the VFW Walsh Post #4499 in Manistee following graveside services.
