I am very lucky to have had this underappreciated musical genius as my teacher in elementary and middle school. I was always in awe of his style of teaching and enjoyed his honesty with us. He really made us feel special and proud of our work. Even now, at 25, I feel I have so much left unsaid to him, but hope his message of helping others as well as his love of music continues to live on in others. Tom was an awesome human being and teacher who exuded passion and knowledge. I've missed working with him and the world will be a little less bright without his charismatic ways.
