My first night at Northern, August 1976, my roommate and I went to orientation. She went to the back of the auditorium to buy a soda and came back with 2 cute football players, Tom and Brian. First guys we partied with on our college adventure. So sad to see this. RIP Tom. You were an amazing, kind, gentle giant.

Please allow me to express my deepest sympathy to you in the loss of Thom,
we became friends during his many visits to the Clearing Post Office and would converse about his business ventures and life in general. He was a fine gentleman and a hard worker. He will certainly be missed.

Condolences to the Markham family. I am a teammate and friend from Northern Michigan. Tom and I came to Northern the same year as "Gold Dogs", and I will never forget when I first saw him and Brian Hickey. They seemed like full grown men among boys! Tom was a good friend to most everyone he met and I have many great memories of him. He will be missed by all of us but he left us with memories that always leave a smile.

On behalf of Roadtec Sales Department I would like to send our deepest sympathies. I enjoyed working with Tom and he will be
missed very much. The last time I saw Tom
was when all of our Regional Sales Managers
were in Chattanooga for a meeting. I was in
charge of my group which included Tom and we decided to take a cruise on the Tennessee Aquarium River Gorge. My thoughts
and prayers to all his family and friends.

My sympathy to the whole Markham family. I don't believe I had a chance to meet any of you. I came to Norhern MIchigan to play football the same year Tom did. I'll have to admit that I had never seen a wide receiver that was 6'6" and could run like a deer. We became good friends and hung out with the same gang. I have not seen Tom since the early 90's at a ZZ Top concert. That was some weekend. He still looks the same and from looking at the pictures had a great family an wonderful life. He will be missed by you all I'm sure. Some of the NMU gang will be there to pay there respect and I'm sure some great stories will be told. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Markham family, we are so sorry for your great loss, prayers to you. As we reflect back to the baseball days of coaching and friendships at Hale PK. A couple of beers and a hotdog or two, nobody could ever miss your father giving his all to his team. He always looked 10 foot tall. His sportsmanship and compassion for a game he truly loved to coach was fun to watch. In short Clear-Ridge baseball on a Saturday (all day fun-day) will always be in our memory and the fun we all had. Praying for your family. Maes family

My condolences to the entire Markham family during this very difficult time.
Tom was a dear friend and teammate at Northern Michigan. Met Tom and Brian on the greyhound bus when we first went up to NMU. The memories of our friendship I will treasure forever. Tom had an incredible sense of humor and was a genuine person to all.
God bless you Markham!!!
