Thomas Michael McCARTHY

Tom and I stayed in contact practically every week when I moved away from Dayton in 2007. One of the saddest days of my life was when I received an email message from Tom but it was Tom's Nephew using Tom's email informing me of his passing in 2014. I still have that message to this day. Tom was not only one of my best officers he was a really good friend who I still miss very much. Rest Peacefully My Brother.

Dear Colleen, Sharon, and all the McCarthy family,

I am so sad at the passing of Tom. He was one of the first friends I met at Chaminade my freshmen year and we remained friends throughout high school and college. We were both so shy during our school days but we had each other to lean on and find our ways through those difficult adolescent years. I could count on Tom to be my ally as we went to all the high school sporting events and we had great fun trying to break 200 on the bowling...

Tom was a former coworker of mine and a very good friend. We worked security together for 6 years and he was a total professional. What I will miss about Tom is not only his friendship and sense of humor but the respect he rendered to me. Without fail every Veterans and Memorial Day Tom would send me a message thanking me for my military service to this country. We have lost one outstanding individual. He will never be forgotten. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
