Not sure what to say?

Tom was a great and down to earth guy, he always had time for Saginaw Steering Gear Plant #2. When we had an open house he would offer his old cars for display in the plant and anything else we would ask for. A GREAT GUY and is missed by all that knew him.

I had the privilege of knowing Mr. McDonald by working with the dealership and the nursery as their Advertising Representative for The Saginaw News. While I was impressed by Mr. McDonald's success as a businessman, I was equally impressed by his willingness to acknowledge others. On numerous occasions, he'd walk across the showroom floor, and with that firm handshake, ask me about business, family and life in general.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Mrs. McDonald and the family.

I first met Tom when we were setting up the new dealership along with the Pontiac and Cadillac Reps.
Over the years we become good friends and a trusted ally. We enjoyed many a good conversation about cars, business, and many topics.
I found him to be a shrewd and wise dealer.
Tom and I and two other GM Saginaw dealers were all the same age each year. All are now gone! He will be greatly missed!

Aunt Ruth and Cousins Tom, Kathy, Diane, Jody and Bill:
Uncle Tom lives in my memories of growing up in Saginaw as the uncle with the clever jokes, the "quarter" tricks, and the guy who I will never forget coming around the corner onto Marion Court on the high-wheel bicycle, wearing the striped blazer and straw hat, of course! Like all the uncles, Tom watched out for us 'cousins' and always tried to teach us a lesson in our talks. As I grew older, I became familiar with the late night...

We were so sorry to hear of Tom's passing this week. Our thought's & our prayers are with the family during this sad time. May God be with you all.

Dear Ruth and family - So sad to hear of Tom's passing. I will always remember how much of an inspirational leader and gracious person he was going as far back as the good days at St. Andrews grade and high school. In the few times we met in recent years, he left me with the feeling that he has been my friend for a very long time. May God bless his soul and give you and family strength in these sorrowful days. God bless.

Dear Family, During my career with the Bay City Times, just meeting Mr. McDonald were joyful and professional experiences. We pray for the family and the repose of his soul through Jesus and our Blessed Mother Mary. John and Nancy Ranallo

I am signing the guest book on behalf of my mother, Helen Donnenwerth, who was an employee for several years in the 1970's. I know that my mother would like to express her sympathies personally but is having health problems that prevent her from doing so.
She was very happy to work at McDonald's Nursery. She worked as a book keeper. She was very proud to be part of the McDonald's Nursery organization. Best wishes to the family that they may find comfort in memories and in the kind...
