Not sure what to say?

Dear Carolyn,
I just found Tom's notice in the Ithaca Journal and wanted you to know I saw it and how much we enjoyed meeting Tom and being able to have a couple lunches with you both. Our prayers go out to you and the family and we will hope to see you in the near future in Florida. Love Dave & Marge

I truly have the most fond memories of our dear Tom and his wonderful heartfelt ways of caring for people. No one was ever more 'TRUE' than Tom McGory. I remember over 30 yrs ago when he would give little pieces of advise for my then 10 yr old daughter who was competing national gymnasitcs with many aches and pains.....his hand on the shoulder and his smile did a world of healing in itself along with the greatest of advise. A model man for all to follow - and...

McGory Family- I was saddened to hear of the passing of a dear friend. I always considered Tom a personal mentor. He introduced me to umpiring for the Kiwanis when he was a director and I was a student at Dryden H.S. That early experience carried me through approximately 30 years of umpiring. It was very satisfying to umpire many of his Cornell games when he was coaching. As the High School basketball coach at Candor, I always considered Tom one of the finest officials in the Ithaca...

Tom and Carol -- My memory of Tom is mostly from childhood visits with my parents, and it always includes lots of smiling, laughing, and food. Thank you for those memories, and may there be continued smiles, laughs and sustenance forever more. Wish fondness, Annelie

Uncle Tommy, you will never know how much of a positive influence you were on my life. During my 20+ years in the U.S. Marines there were those occassions when I just knew I could not go a step further. Then I would think of your endless days and nights in that POW Camp and things did not seem so bad after all. My family and I will never forget what you went through for our Country. God Bless you MAC, you will be missed by many.

I was very sorry to hear of Tom's death and I am sorry that I will not be able to be with you for the wake and the funeral. Although I only got to see Tom at family reunions or at John's funeral, I always admired my cousin's heroism. Know that you are all in my prayers and thoughts.

Jack, family and friends~
I was so very sad to read of your dad's passing in the paper this morning.

I know how close you and he always were, Jack, and what an important part of Heather [McCalmon] Tallman's history classes he always, was as he made such a lasting impression on them year-after-year, when he would come to talk about his WW-II experiences.

I know she always thought the world of him, which speaks volumes, as far as I'm concerned! Certainly he was a man of...

I feel that I owe my professional career to Tom, if he had not introduced me to Ithaca College, I am not sure what direction my life would have taken. He took a chance with me and I hope that I have lived up to his expectations. We did not stay as close as we should have, but Tom was never far from Marilyn's and my thoughts. He will always be remembered as a dear friend and mentor.
Our prayers go out to Tom's whole family.
