Not sure what to say?

Whether you knew him as Coach McGovern on the track or Mr. McGovern in the classroom, it was an honor to have had the pleasure of learning under his guidance. His pride in his sons and love of his wife were obvious, and you could always count on a big smile and warm handshake no matter how many years had passed since you saw him last. He will be greatly missed by everyone who attended Watertown High School, we were all so fortunate to have crossed his path in life.

Mr. McGovern was one of my favorite teachers at Watertown High School. The year I graduated (1973) our yearbook was dedicated to him. Because of his outstanding teaching (I had him for Psychology), I got straight A's in Psychology in college. He was a truly wonderful inspiration and will never be forgotten.

Mr. Mc Govern, thanks for being part of my life. I am a better person for it. I will never forget you. Victor Class of 82

I had the pleasure of running track for Coach McGovern when I was a student at Watertown High. I later had the pleasure of renewing acquaintenaces with Mr. McGovern when my youngest son played golf for Mr. McGovern. My deepest sympathy to his family.

We knew Tom to be a great teacher and coach. As parents, we appreciated his good influence on all the youth of Watertown.

May the number of angels guiding him to Heaven, be equal to the number of lives he touched.

Mr. McGovern was the most inspirational teacher that I had at WHS. He taught me a lot and inspired me to never give up whether it be in the classroom or on the links. He will be missed. I'll never forget him, he'll always be with me. Class of 2003.

MY EXPOSURE TO THOMAS WAS ONLY A FEW YEARS IN TIME, BUT THEY WERE EXTREMLY ENJOYABLE. I ATTENDED ECSU LACROSSE GAMES MAINLY TO WATCH MY SON, VINNIE, PLAY. KNOWING THOMAS WOULD BE IN THE STANDS WITH ME MADE IT EVEN MORE ENJOYABLE. HE KEPT US ALL ENTERTAINED WITH HIS LIFE STORIES, AND PERHAPS THEY WERE SPRINKLED WITH LITTLE BLARNEY, THEY KEPT US LAUGHING. THAT TIME WIL LIVE FOREVER FONDLY IN MY HART. GOD BLESS YOU, THOMAS.

Mr. McGovern was/is one of the best teachers at Watertown High School. He has made an impact on my life as well as my sisters. (WHS years 1992, 1995 and 2003) He will be missed greatly. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.
