January 5, 2016, of North Collins NY at the age of 93 years; beloved husband of the late Dolores (Mecca) Messina; loving father of Marcy (George) Jablonski and Thomas Messina (Jeff Jones); grandfather of Nicole (Jon) Welka and Brian Jablonski; great-grandfather of Patrick and Olivia Welka; brother of Paul (late Jackie), Anthony (Louise) Messina and the late Josephine (Peter) Villa, Felix Messina, Antonette (Sam) Polizzi, Jenny Messina and Joseph Messina; brother-in-law of Mae Messina. Friends may call at the WENTLAND FUNERAL HOME, 10634 Main St. (Route 62) North Collins, NY on Friday from 4-8 PM, where the funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 9:30 AM, followed by a 10 AM Mass of Christian Burial from Holy Spirit Church, North Collins, NY. Mr. Messina was a member of the North Collins American Legion Post 1640, VFW Post 199, The North Collins Senior Citizens and the Holy Spirit Holy Name Society. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the North Collins Senior Center.
Dear Marcy and George,
I am so deeply sorry for your loss. I really enjoyed sitting next to and chatting with Mr. Messina at Marcy's retirement party - he was such a charming gentleman, and a delight to talk with. He'll be in my prayers.
