Rev. Thomas F. Murphy

You devoted your life to God and lived one day at a time . It was difficult when your Mom died and you always gave hope and inspiration to many lonely people . May you rest in peace with our Lord.

As a former employee of Winthrop University Hospital I was lucky enought to be befriended by Father Thomas Murphy. We both loved theatre, and I always enjoyed sharing opinions concerning the subject matter of plays that we both had seen. Father Murphy will be remembered with the fondest of memories

Thank you for being our very wonderful friend. You brought people together, nutured friendhips and encouraged us all to expand our horizons.
We feel you are already serving as our guardian angel.

Fr. Tom Murphy was a good friend,a good priest,and an all around good guy. Fr. Murphy fought illness with the same determination he'd lived his life - faithful to the very last minute. I was wondering just last week about one of his favorite events, the Baseball Writers' of America Dinner in NYC, and how he would miss it because he was so sick. Silly, silly me. I'm sure he was there on Sunday night, except this time he'd definitely get closer to the dais that ever before! Good game, coach! We'll see you again in the great big locker room in the sky! What a shock to me. We were childhood friends and lived around the corner from each other. Father Murphy baptized my two daughters and presided at my oldest daughter's wedding. I will always remember him as my buddy, and will miss him.

i will always remember Father Murphy from OKPH in Lindenhurst, he always had such great poise and statue. My mom and I would love to hear all of his most interesting homilies and exciting stories about his many visits to New York City. May God watch over him, My sincerest sympathies to his family and I am sure many, many friends
