It is hard to say goodbye to a colleague of my now 44 Carthage related years. Tom and I were ships crossing in the night almost 56 years ago. I learned years ago that Tom had been a fellow graduate student at the University of Minnesota. The daughter of the then U. Minn. I was shocked and deeply saddened to learn of Tom's death. He was my favorite professor at Carthage College, and welcomed me into his home as a friend to his whole family. I have thought of all of you so often over the years. I've thought of Tom too, wondering what he thought of recent political and social developments in the United States.
