Thomas “Tommy” was born and raised in Salem, MA and was the son of the late Laurent A. and Claire R. (Deschamps) Normand. He was predeceased by his older brother, Ronald Normand.
Tommy graduated from Salem High School, Class of 1981, and immediately enlisted in the US Navy to serve his country. He was stationed in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii and assigned to the Frigate, USS Brewton, to serve in the WESPAC region as a Fire control technician. As a result of Navy schooling for his MOS, he found his passion for computers. After being honorably discharged from the Navy in 1985, he attended and graduated with honors from GTE Sylvania Technical School in Waltham, MA, where he began his career as a computer hardware and software specialist. From there, it didn’t take long for him to excel and he was highly regarded as a top computer specialist in his area of expertise.
In addition to computers, Tommy also found a passion for cooking. He quickly learned to make dishes from scratch, adding just the right amount of spice to perfect whatever he made. Even to the end, he was cooking for others around him and bringing smiles.
