Tom was one of my favorite people in the Duke ICN. He would talk to the babies in loving voice. What he said to them may have been a scolding, but he knew babies respond to tone, not words. He was wonderful about going outside with chronic babies. He and I took multiple babies in a wagon out to see the sun and feel the "real" temperature. He always was a smiling face at the ICN Reunion. Parents always remembered Tom. One time at the Reunion, he brought a sick alumnus up to the unit and saved...

He was in the navy with my dad Steve Oliver.My dad loved him and would remember fun times with Tom.He was always kind to me,and sent me a picture of the navy´s graduation class after my dad died.Heartfelt condolences,Shannon Oliver
