Dear Fran, last night I noticed his name posted on the sign outside the War Memorial building, and gasped, "Oh, no." My heart-felt condolances to you and your family. He did good work in the world, and will be missed.

Dear Fran and Family, we just saw Tom's obituary in the paper today and are so shocked and sorry to hear of his death. Tom was always a very special person, full of heart, soul, and humor. Our thoughts are with you, Edward, and the entire family. We hope to be able to visit this evening.
