I never met Tom but when I started running in 1980 I read his book on running. I admired him from afar but always kept his name and advice close to me..R.I.P. Tom

Shocked and saddened to hear of Tom's passing. I was inspired to get into ultamarathon running after reading Tom's book in the early 1990's. Sincere condolences to Tom's family and friends at this difficult time. Kind regards, Steve from New Zealand
