I moved to Charleston in April 1973 to be the manager of Hertz Truck Rental. Tom was the rental manager at that time and continued in that job as long as I was in Charleston through July 1976. Tom, Vicky Cynthia (my then wife) and I became very close friends. Over the 3 years or so that we were in Charleston, our friendship grew very, very close. When I relocated to Jackson MS, our friendship continued to grow long distance. Over the years since moving, I have visited Charleston 6-8 times...
