Ledyard - Thomas R. Perody, 93, of Ledyard, died peacefully on Thursday, June 28, 2012, surrounded by his loving family, at Mystic Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born on Nov. 23, 1918, in Easton, Pa., and was the son of Albert and Anna (Skahill) Perody. Mr. Perody served in the U.S. Navy from 1937 to 1959 and is a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. Following his service, he worked as a supervisor at Pfizer, retiring in 1985. He was a member of the Groton Elks.

He is survived by his wife, June E. (Cook) Perody, married on July 21, 1945 in Ilion, N.Y.; and by his daughters, Lucy Davidson and her husband, Peter, of Old Saybrook, Susan Lajzer and her husband, Kenneth, of Houston, Texas, Carol Falvey of Woodbridge, Va., Lise Perody and Robert Koury of West Hartford, and Ann Gladue and her husband, James, of Griswold; and a brother, Albert Perody of Norwich. He was also the proud grandfather to 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a grandson, Ronald Dusza.

The Perody family would like to thank the Mystic Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, especially wings ""A"" and ""B"" for their extraordinary care of Thomas. Your tender care given in his final days will always be remembered. We also thank his roommate Kevin.

A viewing hour will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, at the the Byles Memorial Home, 99 Huntington St., New London, immediately followed by a funeral service. Burial will take place at the Avery-Stoddard Cemetery in Ledyard.

Sending my sincere sympathy to Tom's family.I new him a short while but I always looked forward to chatting with him he always made me laugh. May he rest in peace now. We will remember him with a smile. Glad to have known him if only for a short while.
