Thomas (Tommy) Dean Pester, age 49, passed away at his home on Monday, April 16, 2012. He was born March 18, 1963, in Denison, Iowa to Thomas & Janice Pester. He attended school in Craig, Missouri, and graduated in 1981. On March 6, 1982, he was united in marriage to Leisa (Bradley) Paris in Craig, MO. They had two children, Crystal Lynn and Robert Joseph. Following his divorce from Leisa in 1987, Tommy remarried to Pam (Johnson) Meier. They had four children, Brandy Marie, Cody Wayne, Nicole Lee. Tommy lived in Council Bluffs, Iowa and Tarkio, Missouri for most of his life. He started his own construction business & loved to be outdoors. Recently, he moved to New Market, Iowa and met his companion, Susan Harding. They resided together in Clarinda, Iowa and Tommy started working at the Clarinda Co-op where he finally found his place. He often talked to friends and family about how much he loved his job and fellow workers. He also attended church regularly and often visited his children and grandchildren in Shenandoah & Council Bluffs. Tommy is survived by his daughter Crystal & husband Bert Mick of Shenandoah, Iowa; his son, Robert Pester of Maryville, Missouri; his daughter Brandy Pester and her fiancé, John Hinkel of Logan, Iowa; his son Cody & wife Codie Pester of Council Bluffs, Iowa; his daughter Nicole Pester & significant other Brett Beverage of Council Bluffs, Iowa; six grandchildren, Dylan Michael Fuller, Braeden Allen Mick, Brayden Kermit Hinkel, Austin Kyle Hinkel, Riley Marie Pester, & Bentley Renea Beverage; his parents, Tom & Janice Pester of Council Bluffs, Iowa; and one brother, Todd Pester of Council Bluffs, Iowa. He is further survived by a niece, nephews, & many other relatives. Funeral services for Thomas Dean Pester will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, April 19, at Ritchie Funeral Home, Clarinda, Iowa. The Rev. Bob Smith, pastor, will officiate. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery following the services. Relatives and friends are welcome at Ritchie Funeral Home, 222 E. Washington Street, on Wednesday, April 18 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Thursday, from 10:00 a.m. until the services. We would like to thank the staff of Ritchie Funeral Home, everyone at the Clarinda Co-op, Amy Gardner, and our friends and family for their help and support during this most difficult time.
