Deepest condolences to Margot and Thomas´s family. May they be spared any further sorrow. Our parents were good friends. I became friendly with Thomas several years ago and we often spoke during the pandemic lockdown. He was an exceptionally curious and intelligent man. His passion for history gave him a deep understanding of the rise of Hitler, the betrayal of the Sudetenland and the inevitable destruction of his Czech relatives.
