Not sure what to say?

To Mr. Purtill's family. I was at today's service and it was lovely. Quite in keeping with my memories of "Mr. P". I was unable to stay for the gathering after the service (work you know) or I would have at least tried to tell you this in person.
I am grateful to him. He once, quite literally saved my life. I am very grateful to him. I regret that I did not stay in touch, so he could know just how important he was to me and so I could express that gratitude.

My warm greetings to the Purtill family. Mr. Purtill increased my love for language, literature and theatre. He was a kind and patient teacher and a very nice person. The world is a little less shiny without him.

Mr. Purtill's class was one of my favorite ones at McClatchy. A dedicated teacher, he left a indelible mark on successive classes of his enthusiasm and devotion to English and drama.

I am sorry to hear about Mr Purtill, I had him for English in my sophmore year, he was a great instructor. Rest in peace

I remember Mr. Purtill very fondly. He always went out of his way to encourage and support me and all of his students. He left many good memories and many grateful students. My thoughts are with all of you.

My heart goes out to the entire Purtill family. Rest in peace dear Mr. Purtill.

I offer my sympathies and prayers for the family of "Mr. Purtill." As his student in public speaking classes from 74-75, he gave me a great set of skills. I appreciate his devotion to education at CKM.

I have frequently seen Mr. Purtill in my mind's eye laughing and being so animated. I have always felt I was truly blessed to have him as my English teacher. He was FUN, and a true inspiration to me always, as I'm certain he was to all of the McClatchy graduating class of 68. He will remain in my mind's eye to visit often. He has been a wonderful example to me always. Peace be with his family always.

Mr. Purtill was my English teacher at CK Mc Clatchy 1967/68....He truly took an interest in all of us...I actually enjoyed going to his class and did well....His door was always open to anyone....I am so blessed to have had the opportunity to know Mr. Purtill....My sincere condolences go out to his beautiful family...
