Not sure what to say?

Tom hired me as a Controls Engineer when I graduated from Western Michigan back in 2000. I was desperate for a job and he gave me one despite my poor English. For some reason he decided to take a chance on me. He was a great mentor and was very patient in teaching me the tools of the trade. I enjoyed working with his team back when we were Mcnamee, Porter & Seely. I might not be the smartest engineer amongst the others but Tom told me that everyone has a role to play in the organization. I...

The electrical engineering lessons I learned from Tom paved the way for me to be a successful "sparky" for the rest of my career. He was a great teacher and a common sense engineer. We shared many great moments and stories. I also liked his dedication to his family and love of baseball. We enjoyed trading coaching techniques and each of us liked having a lager or two after the games. Years later, I was glad that I had the opportunity to thank him for all he did for me. I think about him...

Tom was a great mentor to me as well as many of my fellow electrical and controls engineers at McNamee, Porter, and Seeley. His ability to set standards, teach, correct, and release gave me many opportunities.

The skills and practices Tom taught me I still use, and share with my staff. His investment in me has influenced several generations of consulting engineers.

Diane - my condolences to you and your family. May the memories of Tom bring you comfort.

My Deepest condolences to Tom's family. I have always looked up to Tom, The short time he was my supervisor, he was the best teacher I have ever encountered.

I use the lessons Tom taught me every day and teach those same things to my staff.

What I miss the most about Tom is he always took time to tell me about his adventures with his family. Everyone around him knew that was the one thing he was the most proud of. Thank you for the life lessons, Rest in Peace.

Sorry to hear of this loss. My fondest memories are of Tom's infectious laugh. He always made me laugh. He was a very pleasant and fun person to be around. He will be dearly missed and will stay in our memories from the good old MSU days and beyond.

My condolences to Tom's family. Tom was a good man and influenced us with his unique laughter, smile and friendship.

Tom recruited and promoted many young engineers to their successful careers for many decades.

Tom left a legacy in his profession over a long career at McNamee Porter & Seely, Tetra Tech & U of Michigan.
His electrical design has been proven reliable, energy efficient and expandable for the future growth, over decades and the benefits went to his clients,...

The thing I will always remember most about Tom is that wonderful laugh. It was genuine and joyful and lifted the spirits of people around him. I also have a vivid memory of a reflective Tom one day during a quiet conversation by the office copier. His father had died not long before and Tom mentioned that he was wearing his dad's shirt and it meant a lot to him. He wasn't just very smart and funny but also a very caring man. My sympathies to the Ritter family. May your treasured memories...
