Not sure what to say?

Dear Family of Tom. I try to take Brentwood when I pass through the old neighborhood. Yes, it´s a bit different. BUT, the memories remain. Each night after dinner everyone was out side walking and talking like you had not spoken to that person in weeks. Walking past the Rutledge house, and of course stopping, was part of the evening. I drove down the street the other day. Yes, beautiful memories. Tom was always there with a wonderful story. Maybe heard a few times before, but...

My deepest condolences to the family. I worked with Tom through GISD in early childhood. He was funny, loving, and a great wealth of information. He will be deeply missed. He made a huge impact on so many people he came into contact with. Prayers and blessings to you all.

Dear Carolyn and family, My deepest sympathy, prayers and much love at this time of loss. Tom was a beautiful human being--full of goodness, good humor, and care for others. I always felt completely at ease in his presence. I also know that he was sustained by the love of his wife and daughters and more than proud of them. i am grateful for his friendship and know that he is experiencing now the fullness of peace and abundant life. Fr. Don Senior, C.P.

Carolyn and family,

Please accept my sincere condolences and prayers for the repose of Tom's soul and for your family.

Carolyn, I taught with you at St. Leo's. The staff went to your wedding at the Shrine.

God bless you all.

Dear Carolyn and family:
So saddened to hear we lost this beloved man. He had a wonderful spirit, kind heart and a fine wit!
We cherish his memory and are so thankful to have known him.
Love and prayers to you all.

Dr. Rutledge ("Penny, you know you can call me Tom") was truly one of the greats in our field. He was the longest running supervisor I ever had and I had such great respect for him. He was the best story teller I ever met and always brought a smile to my face, in the roughest of times. He was fair, honest, respectful, kind, witty and of course, extremely smart! He told me one time, after retirement, he had to close his private practice as he couldn't charge people and he was losing too...
