Though Tom was my good friend in high school, it never seemed like any time had passed as we saw one another over the years. Tom, with Cyndy, was a neighborhood leader in efforts to get the golf course behind our homes reopened. Our efforts bore no fruit, but not because Tom didn't inspire us to try everything we could.
