Not sure what to say?

Tom and I met over thirty years ago and had repeated contact over the years due to our common industry. Always, I was struck by his kindness, insights, knowledge and integrity on both personal and business levels. It seems everyone who knew him felt the same way. The age difference between us was a generation and recently I retired. It strikes me how fast time goes and in the end, what we leave behind is the difference we make in others' lives. Tom's happy nature, kindness, his honesty...

It was such an honor and blessing to know Mr. Shaughnessy. I had so much respect for him as a boss and person, that I rarely called him Tom though I considered him a dear friend. It was a pleasure knowing Mary and his family as well. We need more people in our world today with the integrity and kindness Mr. Shaughnessy displayed! My thoughts and prayers are with Mary and his family.

We were sorry to hear of Tom's passing.
I still have a photo of Tom and Mary at a company picnic in Alton, Illinois. They were a joy to know.
Our sincere condolences to Mary and family.

I had the privilege and pleasure to work with Tom for quite a few years. I alway admired his genuine respect and caring with everyone he interacted with, either it be a customer, co-worker or the cook in a restaurant (Yes, there were several occasions he would go back into the kitchen of restaurant we were having dinner at). It's been a long time since I last saw Tom but it sounds like he had great retirement.
My condolence to his family during this difficult time.
Sincerely

Tom was a pleasure to work with....and work with is the correct term as he treated you as an equal. He always had time to listen to suggestions and was quick and sure with decisions. I have never heard anyone say a negative thing about Tom. It was my pleasure to work at ConAgr Mills with Tom

Tom Shaughnessy was one of the greatest men I have ever had the pleasure to meet, work along side, be mentored by and am proud to call him my friend. Tom was like a father to me. He made you feel like you were the most important person in the room. You always knew you mattered to Tom. He treated everyone the same whether you were the janitor or the CEO. We all should aspire to be as humble, loving, compassionate and respectful as Tom Shaughnessy was. He will be greatly missed and I will...
