Tom touched many lives in many walks of life, but I will always remember Tom and his dedicated service to the Kent County Republican party, serving not only as a former Chair, but giving of his time and talents on many committees and endeavors.

As president of Grand Rapids Junior then Community College, I had the privilege of working closely with Tom Shearer when he served his community so well on the Grand Rapids Public Schools Board of Education from 1980 to 1986.
