Thomas E. Sheedy

Thomas E. Sheedy, age 84, of Salem, died Wednesday, August 22, 2012 in a local nursing home after a lengthy illness. He shared 53 lovely years of marriage with his wife Gloria (Gardyna) Sheedy, and was the son of the late Michael and Bridget (Ahearne) Sheedy. Born and raised in Lynn, where he lived most of his life, Thomas had been living in Salem for over 30 years. He was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School, class of 1945 and worked at General Electric Riverworks for 24 years until his retirement in 1990. Tom will be remembered for his sense of humor and his generosity. In addition to his wife Gloria, he is survived by his daughter Sharon Pfenninger and her husband Randy of Groton, MA, his brother James Sheedy of Danvers, and his sister Margaret Murphy of Ipswich. He also had four grandchildren, Nathan, Victoria, Rachael and Evan Pfenninger, a sister-in-law Patricia Sheedy of Lynn, a brother-in-law Joseph Moran of Ipswich, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Mary Moran, John and Robert Sheedy. His funeral will be held from the SOLIMINE, LANDERGAN & RICHARDSON FUNRAL HOME, 67 Ocean St. (Rt1A) Lynn on Monday at 9:30AM followed by a funeral Mass in St. Pius V Church in Lynn at 10:30AM. Visiting hours will be Sunday from 2-6PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Interment will be private.
