Thomas E. Sheehy

SHEEHEY Thomas E., longtime resident of Medford, passed away peacefully Thursday, February 11, 2016 at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital, after a long illness. Tom was born in Cambridge, March 24, 1936, only son of Edward Sheehey and Dorothy Printon Sheehey. He attended Rindge Technical High School and Northeastern University. He worked for Stop & Stop as a manager for 26 years. He then went into sales and worked for Imperial Distributors, Auburn MA for 15 years as a regional manager. He ended his career as a driver for Boston Coach, a position he held for 20 years. Tom enjoyed extensive traveling and cruising with family and friends, and also enjoyed watching the Bruins and Patriots. He was affiliated for many years with Medford Youth Hockey and represented Medford as a State Director for the American Hockey Assoc., Commonwealth of MA. Tom is survived by his beloved wife Marilyn. He was the loving father of Diane Sheehey and her husband Page Jones of White Post, VA, Tommy Sheehey and his companion Christina Broderick of Malden, and Derek Sheehey and his wife Shauna of Medford. He was the cherished Poppop of Brogan, Maeve, and Nula Jones, Amber, Brenden, and Caitlin Sheehey and uncle to many nieces, great nieces, and nephews. Friends and family will honor Tom's life at a Funeral Service on Monday morning, February 15, at 11:00am at the George L. Doherty Funeral Home, 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.), Somerville, MA. Calling hours will be held at the Funeral Home, Sunday, February 14, from 3:00 to 7:00pm.
