Personal Reflection: When my mother passed away, there was knock at our door and there on the front steps stood Thomas Sheets, the choral director at our church, Ann Arbor First United Methodist Church. I was not in the choir; I did not solo nor hold a note singing or playing an instrument. Our acquaintance was at a distance. I have wonderful memories of many enjoyable and dynamic rehearsals and concerts singing for eight years under his direction at U.M.S. Choral Union, Ann Arbor. He was dedicated to achieving the highest excellence for every musical work. Furthermore, I was glad to be his friend.

May he rest with the saints in the presence of his Lord, whom he loved greatly. Consoling thoughts and prayers to his family.
