Not sure what to say?

Thomas was a good man and great mentor. I did side work under Mr. Shirley as an appraiser. I was 21 and he 76. He wanted to learn how to take his appraisals into the digital age before he retired and he was able to learn how. He loved his wife dearly, as he often fondly spoke of her. He also spoke proudly of his son Scott and daughter Maura. I did not realize it then but Thomas truly opened his heart and life to me for the year I worked for him, and I felt like he kinda thought of me...

Uncle Tom,
I will miss you. I have finally realized the large impact you had on my life and from reading other entries it seems that you built strong relationships with everyone. Thanks for sharing your life with all of us.

Our family extends their deepest condolences in the passing of Tom Shirley. We remember many a table tennis game in our family room in the basement, where Tom would display some of his skills and techniques. We knew his daughter, Maura, and son, Scott (one of my high school classmates). May they all rest together in our Lord's eternal peace and happiness.

Tom, I would like to thank you for the many lessons you taught me in life and the encouragement you gave me to obtain my CPA designation. I will never forget the many fun Saturday mornings we had playing table tennis at the Glenwood YMCA and at many other venues. May you experience eternal peace and joy.

Tom was a good Friend and we had good times playing table tennis in Erie and Cleveland. He will be greatly missed.

Tom and I had common interests that included appraising and a relationship between my mother and his sister, Virginia. She was my mothers sorority sister at Pitt. I have a baby crib quilt that she made for me when I was born.
Tom will be missed.

Tom has been a friend and table tennis competitor since I met him in 1972. On behalf of the Erie Table Tennis Club- we will miss you Tom.

To the family of Tom,
My husband and I knew Tom from being in real estate. Tom was a brilliant man and "one of a kind". He loved to talk and deeply missed his wife and children. We hope they are all united in Heaven. Our sympathy to his family

Tom,

You were a decent, honest and trustworthy professional man. I appreciated your friendship.

May God continue to bless your family.
