Not sure what to say?

Don't ever think that you are alone when you are feeling your lonliest. God through Jesus Christ and by His Holy Spirit is ever present to comfort you and to fill the void that you feel inside. God is faithful to put you on the heart of His yielded vessels to continue to lift you up before His throne in intercession. You are never alone. This is for each family member and all who loved Attorney Shumaker so much. God bless.

Cheryl ~ I could not be with you in person during these most horrible days, but know that my prayers are with you and the Family. You and Shu always included me as family during the holidays over the years and I will always treasure the time we spent together. You ALL are still part of my family and I expect you to come visit when you can...

We met Mr. Shumaker at a tremendously stressful time in our life. He was our attorney and became our friend. He believed in us. Jeff has talked to him many times since we moved to Minnesota and he was profoundly proud of his family. Tom always told Jeff that he was his brother. We are saddened by his death. Our deepest sympathy and prayers go to his family. Jeff and Vickie Patton

Since I have relocated to Texas I read the Beacon Journal via the internet daily to keep up the what is going on in the town that I grew up in. When I heard of Tom's death I was shocked and terribly upset. When I worked for Judge Bond, Tom would come into the office with his cup of coffee in hand, just to say hello and ask how everyone was. His kind words to me during a difficult time will never be forgotten. He will be forever missed.

While serving as bailiff to Judge Harold K. Stubbs, I had the honor of working with Tom and when I am blessed to remember those times, many of them include thoughts of Shu. God be with you and the family during this difficult time. Remember, to be absent in body is to be present with the Lord. Take comfort in that. I will be continuously praying for you.

Mary Ann, My deepest sympathy to you and all your family. Ellen Herman

I read the Beacon weekly to keep up with the goings on in Akron. Needless to say Tom's passing was news I'd give anything not to have read about. We were pledge brothers in Theta Chi and needless to say experienced the hi's and low's of college life. It seems the years did not diminish his sense of responsibility or maturity. He had a subtle sense of humor and remarkable patience for a person going to school full time and working the hours he did. Apparantly he succeeded admirably and was...

I went to St. Paul's with Tommy. He was a good friend and a lot of fun.

God bless you, Tommy.

John-
I wish I had words to make the hurt go away. Time will be your only healer. It is never easy to accept the death of a loved one, and especially when it is so sudden. I wish I had known your dad. It seems he was well liked and highly respected...handsome too! Your dad was young and his time was stollen from you and your family. However, he truely is in a Better place and hopefully he did not suffer at the end. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this most difficult time....
