Thomas J. Shutter, 70, died Saturday, January 10, 2004, in Madrid, Spain. Beloved husband of Beatriz Fuentes Shutter and loving father of Gabriela M. Shutter-Fuentes, Tomas R. Shutter-Fuentes, Scott (Maria) Shutter, Beth (Chris) Willadsen and Jay Douglas (Jamie) Shutter; cherished grandfather of Scott, Nicole, Kit, Katie, Sydney, and Taylor; dear brother of Gary (Gloria) Shutter of Decatur, IL; preceded in death by his parents Kay and Jay Shutter. Tom Shutter was an Advertising Executive in Chicago beginning inthe early 1960's. Much of Shutter's career was spentat Leo Burnett. In 1970, he was a Creative Director in Burnett's Mexico City office, and after returning to the States, Shutter created 'The Little Green Sprout' in 1973 for the Green Giant Company while still working at Burnett. After retirement, Shutter returned to Spain with his wife and two youngest children and had begun to establish a second career as a voice over artist and as an actor in Spanish television productions. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 7, at 1 p.m. at St. James Episcopal Church, 516 Washington Street, West Dundee. 847-426-5612.
