Thomas E. "Tom" Simpson

Thomas E. "Tom" Simpson, 69, of Corsica, died Sunday, March 9, 2025, at Clarion Hospital.

Born December 2, 1955, in Brookville, he was the son of the late Elaine C. (Panciera) and Walter E. "Bud" Simpson.

On May 3, 1975, he married Julie M. (Cochran) Simpson. She survives. They were married for almost 50 years.

Tom was a graduate of the Clarion-Limestone High School with the Class of 1973.

He was a member of the Corsica Global Methodist Church.

Tom started his working career as a mason after graduating from Triangle-Tech. He then went on to work for Bracken Construction and ran dragline for many years. Tom then began working in road construction for HRI and retired from there in 2016.

Tom enjoyed golfing, hunting, reloading ammunition, family functions, and he was always his happiest being surrounded with and making memories with his grandchildren. He was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers fan.

In addition to his wife Julie, surviving relatives include three children, daughter, Faith O'Brien and husband, Ryan, of Corsica, daughter, Amy Hull and husband, Ian, of Fredericksburg, Va. and son, Joe Simpson and wife, Jessica of Beaver; five grandchildren, Emery, Delaney and Sadie Simpson, and Sawyer and Wyatt Hull; his bonus children, Josh Romo and Erika Romo; and bonus great-nephews, Gabriel Romo, and twins Marko and Mateo Rogers; five siblings, Walter "Wally" Simpson and wife, Karen, of Corsica, Tim Simpson and wife, Janice, of Brookville, Kimble Simpson and significant other, Jill Blevins, of Kittanning, Rodney Simpson of Corsica and Debb Crosmun and husband, Dave, of Verona; in-laws, Richard and Blanche Cochran; sister-in-law, Marcie Lyle and husband, Bob; brother-in-law, Scott Cochran and significant other, Lori Wollaston; and numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at the Corsica Global Methodist Church, with Pastor Jeff Foor officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made, in memory of Tom, to the Corsica Global Methodist Church or the Corsica Volunteer Fire Company.
