THOMAS "SLIM" RICHARD HERMAN, age 64 of Fairview Park, Ohio passed away at home September 8, 2019. Born September 17, 1954 in Cleveland, Ohio. Beloved and adored husband of Lucille (Lu) Katherine Herman (nee Cooper) of 33 years. Proud father of Garrett Herman (Erin) and Daryn Archer (Brian). Loving Grandpa of Hunter Thomas Herman.


Tom was the devoted son of Richard and Judy Herman of North Olmsted, and eldest sibling to: Martin Herman (Janet), Suzan Dowling (deceased) (Jerry), Ellen Hohler (Dale), David Herman (Sue) and William Herman (deceased).


Tom also leaves a large extended family; many cousins, nieces and nephews, whom he loved very much. A wonderful group of friends will also miss Slim, especially his humor, willingness to help others and enduring kindness and loyalty. Very special Dad to Belgian Sheepdog Voodoo (deceased).


Tom was a graduate of St. Edward High School class of 1972, an electrician with Westview Electric and a member of IBEW Local 38 for over 40 years. Resident of Fairview Park since 1985, Tom coached many soccer, baseball and basketball recreation league teams. He was very much honored to serve on the recreation commission since 2002.


A Funeral Mass celebrating Tom‘s life will be held at Saint Brendan Church, 4242 Brendan Ln., North Olmsted, OH 44070 on Friday, September 13, 2019 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made the American Cancer Society or the West Side Catholic Center or a charity of your choice. To honor Slim’s love of Hawaiian shirts please feel free to wear yours!
