Oh my......Tom was on my baseball team when Jim Ferguson was our coach. He batted first when we were the Little League champions. In the All Star game, he started the game with a single. I batted second. Mr. Ferguson called for a hit and run (which was him calling me by my last name) so when the pitcher started pitching, Tom took off for second. The blond haired, second baseman from St. James went to cover second and I hit the ball right where he had been playing. Tom made it to third and...

Tom was may dad's best friend for a long time. He was always so good to me. Treated me like the son he never had. As a teenager he'd even call and check up on me. I loved Tom and am sorry to hear he passed away. An awesome guy.

I will watch the Tigers in his honor.

It can be so hard to face the first year without your loved one, but the love of family and friends can carry you through.
