Tom was a funny and kind man. He always had a joke to tell when I would see him at my mom's salon. She cut his hair for several years. I played softball growing up and he would always ask if I was "hitting them hard and winning!" I have also been a dear friend of Nathan's for years now. My thoughts and prayers are with the family during these tough times.

I was 9 years old when Tom pitched in the '56 World Series. He was one of my favorite players as I became a lifelong Yankees fan. I used to pretend I was him when playing in the yard! I'm so sad to learn of his death. I send my prayers and condolences to his wife, children, family and friends. God bless you, Tom.

I met Tom at the NY Yankees Fantasy Camp 1985-87, and we became friends. I remember that Tom visited me at on one of his business trips. He was full of laughter, and loved life. I have nothing but good memories of Tom. Rest in peace.

As a fan and an admirer of the man, I would like to say that Mr. Sturdivant was a true practitioner of Jesus' principles. He loved & respected "others" above himself. I witnessed it first hand, first in my fourth grade classroom which he visited as a Yankee in off-season on behalf of a friend whose son was my classmate. Then, more recently I observed Mr. Sturdivant's kindness & lifting up of "others" at various OKC autograph events. He was truly a gentleman. I hope people will always remember...
