Thomas E. Taylor, 89 of Nashua, formerly of Cumberland, RI died Sunday November 4, 2007 at the Hunt Community in Nashua.
He was born June 3, 1918 in Cumberland, RI, and was the son of the late Edward and Elizabeth (Johnston) Taylor; he was raised and educated in the Cumberland area.
Mr. Taylor served in World War II, as a member of the Army Air Corps., and again in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, where he attained the rank of Captain. He was employed as the Vice President and Treasurer of Wardwell Braiding Machine Co. of Central Falls, RI.
Mr. Taylor was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Rhode Island, the Pawtucket Rotary Club, Apple Growers of Rhode Island, and the Pawtucket Chapter of the Financial Executives Institute (FEI).
He was predeceased earlier this year by his wife of 64 years, Ethel (Johnson) Taylor.
Members of the family include a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas & Noreen Taylor of Merrimack, a daughter and son-in-law, Meredith & Frank Wnek of South Harpswell, ME, four grandchildren, Christopher & Andrew Wnek, and Thomas & B.A. “Arthur” Taylor, a great grandson Tucker Wnek, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be Wednesday from 6PM to 8PM at the George R. Rivet Funeral Home, 425 Daniel Webster Highway Merrimack, NH. A funeral service will be held
Thursday at 11AM in the funeral home, and burial will follow at the NH State Veterans Cemetery Route 3 Boscawen, NH.
