Thomas J. Umberger

Tom was my Dads, "Ralph Umberger" Cousin. We wish to send our deepest sympathy to Gladys and the family. Just found out about this. Tom was such a nice guy. He gave Don and I a ride in his airplane around Lincoln, when we were on our honey moon. We have nice memories of him and Gladys.

My sympathies to Tom's family. He was a friend, an employer and a wonderful person. I worked for Tom at Lincoln Aviation on the old Union Airport that was located just north of Havelock in the 50’s when I was much younger. It was the most enjoyable time of my life. He will be missed by many and a lot by me even though I have seen him only a few times in the many years since I left Lincoln. He has been in my mind and thoughts many, many times, especially when I am flying.

My sympathies go out to Tom's family. He was a friend at Union Airport when I was young and recently he was very helpful in providing me information about the history of the Lincoln Airplane and Flying School. His passing is a loss not only to his family but to the entire aviation community.
