Not sure what to say?

I'm so sorry to learn of Tom's passing. I just found out today. His wife, Shirley, son, Chris, and daughter, Jennifer played in the Greensboro Concert Band with me at various times, for many years. Tom was a faithful supporter of the GCB, and frequently came to our concerts. He was such a kind person. He will be missed by all who were privileged to know him. Shirley, Chris, and Jennifer, please know that you and your families are in my prayers. May God comfort you, as only He can, during...

I am so, so sorry for your loss and you are in our thoughts and prayers. You were wonderful neighbors.

Tom was a great friend and the smartest student in our graduating class at Southern Pines NC high school, class of 1957. Our condolences and prayers for the family and Chris who I got to know during my 49 years of law practice in Mecklenburg County. Before Covid, when we still had high school reunions, was I think the last time we saw each other, We did email, and I remember him asking about the George Buck method of teaching golf as he remembered that George got me started playing at age 9...

Tom was a good friend all through school in Southern Pines.

When my mom had to give up the cottage at Riverlanding I was blessed to receive 2 Tom Vann works of art. They were gifts that were part of the Sunday School dirty Santa game played each Christmas and were highly coveted by all. My parents thought a lot of Tom and we all enjoyed his art work very much. Our thoughts are with you all Karen Spangler Small

It was a great pleasure working with Tom in the Jefferson-Pilot actuarial department. My fondest memories, though, were at the lunch table. He never cracked a smile while making some of the funniest remarks I ever heard!

Eternal peace and thank you for your legacy to children and grandchildren, my friend. Dr. Mark Scheinbaum, EdD, Boca Raton, FL
