Thomas Edward Vaughn age 58 passed away December 26, 2017 at Tulane medical Center. He was a resident of Varnado, La. He was also known as "Confederate" a nickname given him in school for his intelligence of History. He was also Chief Thomas E. Vaughn who retired after 22 years of service in the US Navy and Coast Guard. He is survived by a sister Leona V. Thomas, one brother Vernon G. Vaughn "Stacey", of Bogalusa La. A niece Amanda C. Lankford, a nephew Justin C. Lankford "Jessica". Four great nephews, Brennan Lorio, Brodie Lorio, Laken Vaughn and Kaden Lankford. Numerous other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife Valerie P. Vaughn, his parents Harvey E. and Verda Thomas Vaughn, and a nephew Jonathan Thomas. A brother-in-law Lloyd Thomas Jr. Visitation will be Saturday December 30, 2017 in the chapel of Brown-Mcgehee Funeral Home from 9 a.m. until time for services at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Ponemah Cemetery. Prayers go out to the family. Thomas and I were classmates and he was always a great guy to hang around with during our high school days. Rest in Peace Thomas.
