Not sure what to say?

I'm just reading this now. And this news is devastating.
I only knew Tom briefly decades ago. We went our different ways but he made such a huge impression on me that I never forgot him. Because he has a unique name I would occasionally search for him on the Internet.
But I never expected to see this and can't imagine him not being.

Words fail me. The words from Don McLean's song about Vincent Van Gogh in "Starry Starry Night" are all I can think of:

...

My heart is so broken as I just learned about this. We met through his church, St. Luke's. Thoughts and prayers go out to his family. He was awesome.

I met Tom years ago when we both worked at the Patio. I consider him a good friend. He always made me laugh and he was a comfort to me when my sister was killed. He had a beautiful heart. I visited him in the hospital a couple of years ago and was amazed at his positive attitude. I think of him constantly and I’m grateful for our friendship ❤

I miss you Tom

I knew Thomas from the time we worked together at the Patio Café in San Francisco. He was always a delight to be around and his sense of humour lightened the days. He was much loved by our motley crew and will be very much missed.

You were a light the shined bright whenever I saw you. Your smile made me smile. I enjoyed watching you at Karaoke. Fly high my friend.

Tom was a childhood friend from St. Luke’s. We stayed in touch later in life with social media which allowed us to catch up with each other. He shared words of support during tough times and celebrated with me during good ones. I hope I was able to do the same for him. He Was positive and fun loving and did everything with gusto and enthusiasm! Well loved by his many friends, he will be missed!

I met Thomas in Key West Florida in 1978. We worked together and became fast friends. Thom visited me in Burbank with Ron and we toured the town painting it bright shades of RED. The photo I added is one I had just found and shown Thomas as I know he loved those pants! I miss our talks, our times out and I MISS YOU!!!!! Save a seat for me at the bar.....

I'm so sorry to hear of Tom's passing. We were good friends in highschool. We were in choir, Songleaders and the musical productions together. I have so many fond memories of Tom! He was one of my favorite people. May he rest in peace.
