Dr. Thomas H. Walker

Thomas was ten years older than me, but I thought I was right up there with him. Growing up, I spent many days at Grandma and Grandpa Walkers. It was fun being with my two uncles, Thomas and Hilbun. On Saturday we would go to Greenville to shop. As soon as we got home we had hot dogs with ketchup.
When Thomas met and fell in love with pretty Faye Carnes , he would let me go with him to pick her up from the nursing dorm. I could hardly wait to get back home to tell Grandma and Grandpa...

Brother Walker was the minister at Hillsboro Heights Baptist Church in Huntsville, where my parents, Leah and Monroe Bates attended. Only fond memories of Brother Walker. May the peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with his family during this time of loss. Hold tight to his teaching and one day meet again. God Bless each of you.
