We are so grateful to have Tom in our lives. Tom came by to see us before we moved to Texas. His favorite phrase was "stay close to the Lord" We loved Tom as he did us. Thank you Jesus.

Tom used to coach at a basketball clinic I went to as a kid. He was truly a great spirit, and a hell of a guy to be around. Much love to the Whalen family.

Remembering Tom Whalen …

I worked as a paraeducator alongside Tom Whalen (and Cherie Exner) at TRI-Transition Program--an alternative program for middle/high school students who were long-term removed from their school districts--Bethel, Puyallup, and Franklin Pierce Schools ... I had many opportunities to ‘visit' with Tom whenever he came to GATES High School as a substitute for his son, Mike Whalen--lead CBL teacher GATES ... He was a substitute for Kathy Woodard--former Special Ed...

We have many fond memories of our times with Tom and Linell.. He was a man who lived his faith.

He lived his life for his Savior Jesus. He loved us and share God's hope and joy. He was welcomed home, "Well done faithful servant". We will miss him so much.

We will always have the memory if Tom in our hearts. He was a truly great man, friend, and inspiration. He left this world a better place.

I was fortunate that you were my high school coach at FP and then a couple of years later we played ball on a Pierce County Church league that we won. A lot of great memories. You will be missed.
