Not sure what to say?

A lovely service for a fine man. It was a true privilege to know my grandfather's brother.

I personally didn't know Mr. Whitfield but my husband, Lacy Cohea, was always coming home telling me things that he and Mr. Whitfield had talked about over breakfast. Lacy had alot of respect for him and will miss his talks with him. Our wish for the family is for you to find comfort in how loved Mr. Whitfield was and will be missed.

Jim and Carol, I was so sorry to read about your loss, and I'm sorry I didn't know your dad. Please accept my heartfelt sympathy to you and your entire family. Your family is on our prayer list at First Baptist in Yazoo City.

MR.Thomas as well as MS.Mildred, Mr.Ben & MS.Eva were very much a part of my life. When I first met them in 1954 at Pocahontas. I had the pleasure of talking to Mr. Thomas after Ms. Mildred had gone home. We talked about Mr. Ben's rock collection (Which I helped collect and he would give us money for). Mr. Thomas said he had the collection and would pass it on to you boys.George,Jimmy, Stanley you have my deepest condolences and will be in our prayers. all of you were a big part of my life also

We have many fond memories of Mr. Whitfield. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Mr. Whitfield was a friend to all who knew him. A most sincere Christian, devoted father, loving husband, community leader and a definite asset to his community and country. We all have our own memories of him which will be cherished, enduring and linger in our minds for years to come. He will be sorely missed.

Mr. Whitfield had been in my life since I was a child. My family and his family have always been church friends and lived in the same area. He was an intelligent, kind, understanding and most of all a wonderful Christian man. He will be greatly missed.

I really respected Mr. Thomas. I have only been a member at Pocahontas for about 3 years, but I recognized very quickly how much he meant to the church. I am going to miss seeing that back door swing open on Sunday morning and Mr. Thomas come walking down that aisle to take his seat at opening assembly.

I very fondly remember both Mr. and Mrs. Whitfield during my "growing up" years at Pocahontas Baptist Church. I am grateful for their service to Jesus Christ. I know that they were special people to a lot of folks and especially beloved by the Carrigan family.
