I became acquainted with Tom Wilson when his grandson, Josh, and my son Lydon became friends. Tom had a unique sense of humor that set him apart. Even though he was an accomplished man, he was friendly and approachable. He and his late wife Karla were generous people. I can recall several occassions where the neighborhood children were treated to McDonalds, or benefited from being given the opportunity to earn a little cash for a simple chore.
